Dior Pink design 5-Colour Eye Palette: Friday fun and a Go-Go girl face of the Day

After we finished our TPS reports this afternoon, Tabs and I decided to play hooky and start the weekend early with gravy (for Tabs) and Dior’s new fall Pink design palette for me.

Sometimes I’m a lazy bum when it comes to makeup, yo, and I really like products that take the guesswork out of things. Dior did that here with Pink design by bundling together almost everything I needed to do this look for my eyes — an eyeshadow base, some amazing powder shadows and even a cream liner (for $58, couldn’t they have thrown in a mascara, too?).

To brainstorm ways to work Pink design this afternoon, I listened to cat and mouse by Nikki & rich for inspiration. Bist du ein Fan? I kinda their ’60s go-go sound.

It got me thinking about thick cat liner, big false lashes and frosty lips…which led to tonight’s go-go girl-inspired shimmery pink and purple eye.

Are you ready to go-go? Lass es uns versuchen!

Start by patting the opalescent eyeshadow base from Pink design (the pan on the lower left) from your upper lash line to your brow bone (I used my fingers). Then, add a splash of color using a MAC 239 Eye Shader brush (or any eye shadow brush) spritzed with MAC Fix+ (you could use a spritz of water in a pinch), and pat Pink Design’s shimmery pink eyeshadow (the center pan) onto your lid and into the crease.

Next, grab a MAC 217 Blending Brush, aka my favorite blending brush in the world, and soften out any harsh lines by swiping the brush head back and forth along the edges of the pink.

Now, to softly contour the eye, sweep the shimmery purple eyeshadow (the pan on the upper left) into the crease with the same blending brush. Then, to define the brow and open up the eyes a bit more, press a fingertip-sized dot of the glittery pink eyeshadow (the pan on the upper right) at the highest point in the arch of your brow.

Cat and mouse also got me thinking about cat eyes, so I lined both my upper and lower lash lines with the dark purple cream liner (the pan on the lower right of the palette) using the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner Brush.

I traced over the lines with a MAC 266 small angled brush loaded with the shimmery purple shadow, curled my lashes, applied three coats of mascara and finished the eyes with a pair of flirty false lashes (Urban Decay’s urban Lash in Tease).

The rest of the look was kept super simple… I swiped some NARS sin blush on the apples of my cheeks and ended with a layer of Dior artist Pink High shine Lipstick on my lips.
